Improved Wear Resistance Tougue Rail

Improved wear resistance tongue rail was developed with the aim of reducing maintenance
cost, by improving wear resistance of tongue rail that is the “key point” of turnout but wears
down fast thus needs to be replaced frequently.

Characteristics of improved wear resistance tongue rail

The material used for improved wear resistance tongue rail is HH340 because of its heat treatment characteristics. The tip shape has profile designed to restrain flow in its initial stage and wear generated at the tip.
This way, the slack quenching improves the wear resistance of the material better than for conventional material and prolongs the service life of the product, which proves that this tongue rail contributes to reduce the track maintenance cost.

The change of the rail material from HC rail to HH340 rail has made it possible to secure a hard surface and an internal tenacity.
The technology for improved wear resistance tongue rail was developed by the Railway Technical Research Institute. Our company is manufacturing and selling improved wear resistance tongue rail under the technical guidance of the Railway Technical Research Institute.

The sectional shape of tip is machined at an angle matching the shape of wheel. The angle of gauge corner is 65º or 70º.
